These are odds and ends from the weekend's work. The buckskin
is a three year old named Doc. He's coming along well and should
make a good pony. The gray behind him is 8 and a good horse for
ridin' drag. Just doesnt have much zip when ya need it. We call him
Tink.

My gelding Ranch after a long day.

My mare Reba. She's 11 and a nice horse. She isn't too cowy but
she trys hard. Never bucked a lick. Broke her as a four year old.
I'd like some colts but i like ridin' her too!

My cousin's great horse Bandit. He's sure classy lookin and a great
cowpony to boot. At the end of a long day ya still got lots of horse
under ya.

This tank is filled from a pump 3 miles away and 1/2 a mile lower.
They gather the water high in a 2 inch pipe and use water power
to pump a spring up over the ridge. The water inlet at the tank
shoots water out for 6 or 8 seconds and then pauses for a couple.
The overflow then gravity feeds 6 more big tanks down the valley.

Heres a shot of a Mormon cricket. They were really bad during
the drought 3 or 4 years ago. Now ya see one here and there.

Same bug by my chapstick for comparison. Each female lays
10000 eggs. Each cricket eats 80 to 100 lbs of forage during
its life cycle. Sadly, right after this picture was taken someone
squished the happy little insect into the dust.

A evenin' shot of the corralls at the ranch.

We saw this Golden Eagle settin' on a ridge as we scouted cows
on the fourwheeler. Got the camera out a little slow but captured
an action shot instead of a portrait.

Even the desert blooms now and again. But it's tough pickin'
prickly pares fot your sweety!

The family posing at the head of one of the few canyons with a
rickity road up it. We took the wheeler up high to check passes
for sign or actual bovines, ours or strays from the other side.

Amazingly, each evening in Utah the sunsets in quite the light show.
Hope you all enjoy as many sunset and sunrise as God gives ya!!
