Somebody Pinch Me...

OldTimer you better get up to Ponoka someday they have some awesome horses up there. Ty and I were talking about the horse thing after Airdrie-I'm not sure if he'll ride Novice much after this year-he's eligible for 4 more years-at least in the open you usually get a horse you can do something with-those rotten little no buck chute fighters get pretty old after awhile. I sell all mine to a Dr.-Dr. Ballards lol.

Ponokas THE best rodeo out there, next would be Bruce....then Calgary...IMHO

I can't tell you how proud I am of Ty....dang....thats awesome!!!!! :D :D

Were you and Greg there yesterday? I was over in the contestants grandstand taking pictures-Ty might have a chance at the CFR now but sure if they have a minimum rodeo limit in the Novice or not. We've always tried to go to the most money with the least miles might he might have to hit northern B'C in August and Pincher Creek-long drives-I hope he can get a sponsor.

Way to go Ty .... and family

Ty will be updating the leather in Saskatchewan !! :cowboy:

(It's been to our branding many times but this year it had more meaning so I took a pic) 8)

He's got two more coming now-we find out tomorrow if his cast is off or on for six more weeks-he really wanted to take a run at the National and Canadian All Around but getting healthy is more important.

Ty thought he could of little better on her that cast on his free arm is kind of throwing him off-he whacked the pickup man in Airdrie pretty hard with it by accident. Silver are you related to the DeRose's or Delano Kjos-I'm pretty sure Delanano won the average in Ponoka this year.

Delano Kjos is my cousin, hope the little bugger is doing good. He works for me out in the bush quite a bit, turning into a pretty fair cat skinner too.

Thanks everybody it was a pretty sweet deal for old Dad. Ponoka is by far the best rodeo I've ever been too-as big as Calgary but without a security guard every ten feet. Calgary is still great but Ponoka just feels more cowboy. The grand entry was incredible-the sponsor flags get run in by a bunch of girls and they do some pretty intricate stuff as hard as they can go-then they best part they run a semiload of bucking horses into the arena and ccircle the girls a couple times-there's a stagecoach chasing the whole deal too. Nothing prettier than a big bunch of broncs lining out. there were alot of Americans up the two rodeos we were at-Chet Johnson made a great ride on 'Mona Lisa Smile' in Airdrie-I love that mare. Will Lowe was awesome at both places I think he was leading both rodeos but the cowboy that impressed me was Jesse Bail-he might not be as fancy as some but that guy is a hand. As to the pic-what I do is video Ty's ride then just capture a frame from the video. College wise Ty has already signed his letter of intent to Montana State-of all the schools we visited and sent stuff too they seemed the most interested and sincere in having him-jersey lilly we can meet up at Caspar at the college finals hopefully some day.

O come on. The Rodeo Coach at Sam is our pastor at Cowboy Church he is very good with the kids and also help them find themself with the Lord.
Coach Miller has a bull, Saddle bronc, and Bareback riding school every summer. He gets some of the top riders in the NFR to help teach these kids what its all about.

If he changes his mind we live 30 miles from Sam and have a camp house that is always empty and a bunch of ranch work to.

Glad to hear Lil Lilly will be coming to Sam she will love it. My wife and I met at Sam at the Horse Barn. So you never know what she may run across when she is there.

Ty isn't about to go back on his word to Montana State-to be frank he doesn't really like Texans-too much talk and not enough action at Farmington last year-the bronc twisters anyway lol. Silver Delano made it to the ten grand show down tonight but old Lynx Mountain got the best of him-no shame in bucking off that horse. Tilden Hooper was 90 on Grated Coconut-I know Saturday I'll be looking over the fence at him in Calgary imagining how he'd look in my pasture-that horse is my hero lol.

Congratulations to Kris flanagan another Meadow Lake cowboy he outrode for the winning chuckwagon in the $50,000 final heat at Ponoka-I just bet his motor was running when the horn sounded.

The head rodeo coach is Mike True and the roughstock coach is Andy Bolich both real good guys hard to believe Ty is less than two months away from heading there. Were stopping on the way to Farmington to get him enrolled and everything else set up. Gonna miss my right hand man for sure.

Ty got recasted for another two weeks-anybody know a vet in Nw New Mexico that can cut a cast off on the down low-these darn Dr's wouldn't put a dehorning wire in Ty's so I can do it lol.
