Son's First Deer

Hubby took our 13 year old son out hunting yesterday. This is his first year hunting, and he was drawn for a mule deer buck. They found this guy just laying off the road in a stubble field. Son got him on his first shot, the deer never even stood up. He is pretty proud of himself!! Now we make jerky!

Very nice. Typical of this new generation, they go after the big house and skip the starter home. :wink: :-) Congrats

Yep, that's the way the do it, don't want to start out at the bottom.....

Actually he is pretty disappointed, found out today that there is a much nicer one with some drop tines that has been hanging out about a 1/4 mile from where they found this one. The only thing keeping him happy is that the guy that told us about him wasn't sure if it was a Muley or a Whitetail. Whitetail season is still to come......
