This sounds like the essence of Capitalism, and why it works, why we work:

and why socialism doesn't!

The butcher has some meat for his family, but darn little in the freezer, and can't afford to buy anything from the brewer or baker even if they had something to sell..

The baker has bread for his family but little to sell, so he can't buy from the butcher or the brewer,

The brewer could be doing well because everyone is trying to drown their sorrows.. but has nothing he can buy.. so he drinks what little he has..

Until it gets so bad then they learn to trade with each other (black-market) and once again the seeds of capitalism comes to the rescue..

The communist countries figured this out, so why can't our commies figure it out?
