I guess we better watch what we buy or we may get more than what we want.

can you imagine if someones cows would have got into that hay stack. them would have been some pretty happy cows

what do you suppose that kind of hay is worth per ton? :D

Well you gotta admire their ingenuity, but you've got to wonder why they thought they'd get away with crossing the border with it. Who crosses the border with hay? Or maybe they do. Looks to me like a lot of money in that bale. Young folks tell me the stuff on the street is worth $25 per eighth. Is that 1/8 ounce? Or 1/8 pound? Even if it's 1/8 pound, that works out to $200 per pound, and there must have been 200 lbs in that bale to equal $40,000. If folks are paying $25 per 1/8 ounce..... that would seem to be a lot of money

That would be an 1/8th ounce....A full lid is 28 grams (1 oz)-- and depending upon quality can sell from $90 to $300+ an oz...I think the average is around $200 now...

There is several hundred thousands $ street value there...

That reminds of a story I read years ogo , I think it was by Hondo Crouch. This guy was pushing wheel barrows full of horse manure south across the border. The Border Patrol or Customs Agents sifted through his numerous loads every trip. They even resorted to blowing compressed air through the pipe handles and broke down the tire to check for contraband. They knew he was up to something but couldn't find anything. It was the IRS that finally busted him for unreported income. He was selling brand-new heavy-duty wheel barrows across the border. 8)

Semi loads of hay cross the border close to us. :?

Those bales are a special treat for happy cows. It looks like they have marshmellow filling in the center!

One thing for sure, that hay crop should count as a value added enterprise.  :P :P :D
