It has been a very mild winter to say it mildly. We are sure behind on water but do not miss the subzero temps we normally have this time of year. The mountain hasn't got enough snow for a June picture much less Feb. Such is life.

Dust on the dirt road just kinda hangs in the air. Another rarity for this time of year. 17% of normal moisture will cause that. Spooky come this summer.

I have been able to dig postholes all winter and work on little H's sheep pens. Her 4H flock is up to 6 ewes(1 is littlest h's) and a buck. Be shearing before long. Don't want the sheep to overheat in their wool blankets.

Lambs are speeding around. 1 ewe left to drop but she was a yearling and is behind the rest a ways. They are growing good and hopefully 2 or 3 will be nice enough to make the stockshow in July.

Had AI'ed our best cow to Ned Jr's great Hereford bull 175E and crossed my fingers. Well despite my best efforts she caught and delivered a great heifer calf!!! We call her comet from the spot on her forehead. Excited to see how she turns out.

Our horse herd standing around the corral waiting for me to put away the camera and feed.

My horse Twizzler. As I type this afternoon, the grass in the backyard is covered in snow! :D :D :D Maybe winter was just late showing up to the party. Have a good evening!

Thanks for the pic's H, sure hope you can catch some moisture. Were pretty dry here to but its been a great winter to work on outside projects!

Sure hope you get some of the snow storm predicted for the Rocky Mtns. It has been a pretty good, open winter, but awfully cold lately. Some young guys helping build our new barn have put in some miserable days. Looks like they finally finished with the roof yesterday, when the temp. might have reached 32%. It was sunny and no wind, for a change. And I think we are getting started 'for real' (had a few calves a week ago, three weeks ahead of due date) calving a bunch of A-I synchronized heifers.
