Spring Storm Aftermath !!!! ( My Pictures )

[North Ridge Ranching]

This is a mile south of our lane. The equipment is digging out two tractors stuck in the road. One ours, the other our neighbors.

My two older kids playing on the side of the road where the last picture was took.

Our mini-van parked where the two tractors were stuck for two days.

This is the entry into the farm yard.

This is the road to our bale stack. The stack of bales behind snow is 2 rows high.

Another picture of the snow bank driving into our yard.

A CAT digging a road into a friend of mines place. She has been stuck there by herself since Wednesday morning with 2 kids.

This is how we had to get to work yesterday. This is actually a paved road that is built up quite high.

Man, that looks plain scary. Never had a storm like that in these parts that I'm aware of. I think I would just crawl in a hole and give up!

I've got more to come that people I know took. It was crazy. In our RM alone there are Track-Hoes, CATS, Payloaders, and alot of tractors and snowblowers working overtime. It's tough to get to feed, let alone cows. Most everybody calving. Storm started Wednesday and didn't let up till early Friday.

One to tell the grandkids about!!! :shock: :shock:

Hard to believe I can impress you with pictures of snow.

Yes, I think hay crops should be nice, they shouldn't freeze either, they will be under snow till July.

Ya, I remember you guys had a bad one down south. We are just lucky that most cows kept their legs crossed for us. Only had 2 in storm. Lost one while we stuck on road for six hours, but otherwise we made out alright.

Incredible, impressive, scary, pretty cool for the kids. Looking forward to the next pics and I certainly feel for those who's green grass will come at possibly considerable expense.

Looks like here. We had a CAT clear our road Thursday morning. One of the luxuries of having oilwells past the yard. I saw a guy with a skidoo running around shutting wells off yesterday, as they can't get in to truck them out.

That is bad. The son is back running a snow blower for a friend that contracts to Hiways. They have the big Oshkosh going again and it is sure paying for it's self. What took a payloader 10 hours to make one pass he did 2 in 5 hours.

That was one interesting storm thats for sure,i had to take the tractor to go help the neighbour lady thursday night who was having calving problems.There was a lot more times i couldn't see anything then times that i could.My cows crossed there legs until an hour after the storm had passed, and then i had 5 cows calve.Glad to see we all made it through that one,i was wondering how you made out up there North Ridge.

We survived better than some. Our cows had quite good protection from the with alot of bush. The cows may have made out better than us humans.
