In the middle of December 2010, my Dat and I bought 23 bred black angus heifers that were to start calving March 15th, for $1200/hd. They were with the bulls for 40 days, bred to low bw angus bulls. They started calving 3/6/11 and the last one calved 4/16/11. We ended up with a 100% calf crop. We pulled one calf, if you want to call it that, 2 contractions with me on the chains and she had it. Yesterday those 23 pairs were sold to gentleman in South Dakota for $2000/pair! Not a bad start to 2011!
