I have been there, my uncle lives there and has since the early 80s. I was there in '93 and it wasn't exactly what I would call a paradise. Yeah, the weather is pretty nice, but it is still a third world latin country with all the problems that go along with that. Of course with the banana republic we live in being what it is, maybe there really isn't that much of a difference any longer.
