today we loaded up and made our way to Wamego, Kansas. our daughter, a sophomore, was running in the state cross country meet. last year she finished around 40th place out of 150 girls, with a time of 19:35

she really improved this year! she finished 28th out of about 150 girls, with a time of 18:19

the course is about a mile and a half over some horrid hills!

we are super proud!!

my cousin, a track coach at Nebraska even came down to watch her run....so if the scholarship is good enough, I may let her be a husker.

WHAT!!!????
You're serious?! I'm trying to get into Nebraska but I never dreamed that a K State man would go for Nebraska. Economy MUST be tight.
Just pullin' your leg, jigs.

just said that to be nice.... I think old Sandyhusker may be looking for a rope and a tree after the mighty huskers game tonight !!

With the rate of improvement she's showing, she should be able to run down the feller of her choice by the time she graduates. :D

Good for her and congratulations.

Nope. Bo needs a little time, Callahan left the cupboard on the D side pretty bare. You look at how many walk-ons are starting for us and you realize how good a job Bo is doing. We're still going to slap the mildcats.

I see 'Ol tubby showed who the best team in Kansas is.... again.
Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk. :P

right now, every loss is one step closer to the new coach. soI may even chant "old home bread" at the game....that is what you guys say isn't it???

Texas / Tech was a ball game huh??? Crabtree will make an instant impact in the pros. that kid is unreal !! how about the kicker pulled from the stands?? he did ok. Old Pirate Leech is still a wack job. but at least the arrogance of Texas took it in the pants! I am the only one who picked them in my pool.... of course I picked KSU also. so my pride balanced out my picks.

Generally, my favorite teams are Nebraska, Wyoming, and whoever is playing Notre Dame, but I like seeing Texas and Colorado get beat, too. If it wasn't for the Huskers, yesterday would of been a perfect day. It still was pretty good because I didn't think we could run with OU anyway- not yet.
