We lost a mom this spring, so the kids have a new pet. They named him Steam...

BMR are there any Dairys close to you? Most will give you a bull calf you just have to pick it up. They may even feed it one bottle of clostrum.
I know we do and most around here do the same.

road trip?
Fed Ex? they say they ship anything anywhere LOL
Hail I am sure I will have a couple tonight only to have them shot tommorrow
Oh well just trying to help

Steam - I have no idea how the mind of a 5 year old works. I can't even keep up with my own.
The curls are proof positive of the sire, and as for getting the calf, while it might be a good fit you you would have to take on Billy and even worse his little sister.

Cute. :D

i bad it's so far apart, we have a mom that i think we might have to put the calf down. Good little cow. Very quiet. :?
Too bad we're not closer as well, with four sets of twins and having to put Lady Lou Lou down because of a broken leg we have way more calves than cows..

RSL very cute pics ,Steam is going to have more love and attention than any calf around.. :D

Great photo's and kids! Kids do have fun raising those calves. If yours were just a few years older, they might do as a couple of kids I know well did, teach the calf to "play bullfight"......which was fun till mom or dad asked why the calf was bunting them!!! The calf later climbed a half dozen steps to the deck, ate the christmas lights off the deck railing, and tried to walk through the glass doors to 'play' with the kids inside. He got moved to the weaning pen after that escapade! Kids are always thinking of ways to have fun! Enjoy it all.
