Is there anyway to stop eminent domain? For example if I gave my farm to the Nature Conservancy or a similar group could it still be taken?
Since we bought the place in '42 we have already had a farm to market road run through the place. This cost us 10 acres and cut our farm into two pieces. Then they widened another hwy to four lane and cost us another 10 acres. Now they have plans for a tollway which will cut the largest 100 acre parcel into two pieces. Being single with no one to give the farm too, I would give it to some group if it would stop the tollway and the land could stay as agricultural land.
Any thoughts?
