on the east slope, we get Chinooks "snow eater" in Blackfeet
up on that res, world record temp change for 24hrs was set--101 F--if you got sherm ewings book, 'the range' there's pictures in it taken a day apart--taken off a sled of loose hay, Hereford cows with about a foot of snow on their backs, in snow up to their butts, waiting to be fed. the next day===the snow is gone, the cows are on the hills, the valley is fulla water.
the wind hits the rocky's--drops a lotta moisture on the west side---comes on over, we get 'compression heat', we're dryer, plum windy, radical changes, many times a lot warmer than them poor buggers farther east--they can look at same snow all winter---
