Storms last night

Help Support Ranchers.net:

We received an inch and four tenths from the storm that came in yesterday
early evening. South of town they got over 4" in like an hour. Things are
flooding today--the weather forecast did say there was a flash flooding
warning with this storm. Beautiful morning out there though.

Scarily magnificent pictures! It always amazes me how much sky you see in your area compared to here where we peak through the trees.

And here, also in SD, we have to go quite a distance to be surrounded by trees in numbers like you in areas with more precipitation have!

We get a little claustrophobic visiting family in MS, or MN, for instance.

We do have skies which can range from absolutely beautiful, to eerie, to very frightening, sometimes changing almost momentarily from one to another, it seems. Sunrises and sunsets can be spectacular most any day.

We got in on some of those storms last week, even getting some hail, which, while sort of impressive, didn't do us much damage. Over about three days, we totaled about 2.5' of rain, bringing us a little over 5" total precip. for the year. And it is cloudy again today. Ground is finally warm and grass AND weeds are growing like crazy, for which we are very thankful.

We had over 5 inches in 2 days. When it rains, it pours here! The farmers and slugs are loving it. I thought there was a snake in a potted plant today, but it was only a very large Asian slug. < Ugh> Good to hear from you mrj!
