Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh could be facing his second suspension in as many years for his latest Thanksgiving transgression.
NFL executive vice president of football operations Ray Anderson told ESPN that the league will review Suh's kick to the groin area of quarterback Matt Schaub in Thursday's 34-31 overtime loss to the Houston Texans and that "everything is on the table" when it comes to potential punishment.
"It didn't look good," Anderson told ESPN.
Suh was kicked out of a Thanksgiving loss to the Green Bay Packers last year and suspended two games after he stomped on the arm of offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith.
Suh wasn't penalized for his kick of Schaub, which came with 6:49 to play in the first quarter, after he split right guard Ben Jones and right tackle Derek Newton on a pass rush. As Newton spun Suh to the ground, Suh struck Shaub with his left foot in what appeared to be a second motion.

He will be fine - this is minor - the average person worships the sports hero - to the point of extreme adulation and forgiveness

Look at the various sports figures that have raped, gambled, drugged, and whatever you can think of.

Immorality and illegal actions are completely forgiven provided the sports hero can still run faster, jump higher, throw farther and so on.

Which is why I have almost completely forsaken professional sports - it is really no longer the game for the players and the fans - it is the private lives of players - the titillation of their actions - the media fawning, etc

It is the money, the greed, the sex, the drugs and the high life.

Even management often condones bad behaviour - often helping by adding their own reasons why this athlete did what he did.

Makes me sound bitter when I read it - but there are so many examples of this type of behaviour - or worse - in professional athletes today - on nearly a daily basis somewhere in North America - that the good guys have been over-shadowed in a big way.

If you are an accident of genetics, you can be worshipped as well.

He'd have to have damn good aim because there was no way that he could see where he was supposedly kicking.

True dat.

If he suddenly became available, every NFL team would be scrambling to try to sign him. Everybody hated Butkus, too. Funny how Suh gets in the thick of things, even when he's double teamed every damn snap.

I was watching the game and watched the replays how could anybody control your leg in that sort of motion. But go ahead a make a big deal about it, nobody cares that he is only making $XX millions.

the NFL is killing football. it is a business, and not a sport anymore...sad. I want a good rivalry, where teams hate each other, and play that way...like the old Cowboys / Redskins feel.....

that is why I love high school and college so much more than pro...the rivals, the passion, and the joy and the pain that comes with every win / loss

pro guys just don't have that anymore.

Grandson attended a "Free" football camp he and another former Nebraska football player put on this summer down here in Texas. Saw him and listened to him several times during and after the sessions. They guy is actually a very down to earth nice guy.

Off the field, Suh is as nice a guy as you will ever meet. Even nicer than I'm sure Jigs was to the Secret Service types who visited him.
