Off on a morning cattle working project. We rode through one pasture, and picked up the four bulls that were in it. These we dumped into another pasture full of cattle, and gathered this bunch.

The herd. We sorted off the original four bulls, plus six more that were in this pasture, and put them through a gate into another pasture with both cows and bulls.

Just can't get enough water. After our snack, we trailed this herd another half mile to a level spot where there was a fence. Even though there wasn't a corner to work with, we sorted off 90 yearling heifers that had gotten fence down and joined up with a hundred and sixty pairs. Saddletramp stated when we got done sorting, that it had only taken us an hour and five minutes to cut off the ninety heifers. We then put the pairs a half mile north into a better pasture than the one they had been in. The yearlings got to stay in the least fresh pasture.

Hi Chelsie. After we once again resumed our journey, we started re-gathering bulls, and took home thirteen head as we went. I forgot to take any pictures. :?

Things are looking good there, Soap. Thanks for more pictures of Brocks sorrel. I do like that horse. I see he is sporting a new bridle.

And Yellowstone has to have the most photographed ears of any
horse alive!!! :P

I'd forgotten about packing a lunch in your slicker, coat, etc.
It's been a long time since I did that. It's heck to get old.

Dayum...as hot as it's been around here for the past 4-5 weeks, there've certainly been times I wished I could drink straight out of our water-pipes like that. The water here tastes like it comes right out of the Yellowstone Caldera. But from what I've seen so far having pulled some well-casings and replacing leathers, Sulphur sure seems to be alot easier on things, compared to Methane. Any thoughts ? Has anyone noticed any 'long term effects' of Methane in water-supply to cattle ?

Great anthology --I got hot, thirsty and wanted peanut butter just looking!!

Thanks Soap ---and I love your sense of humor --does it ever get you cuffed up side the head?? :) :)

Does anyone else get the horrendous urge to run up behind Mr. Saddletramp and push him in?????? It looks so hot and that perfectly white glistening shirt is begging for a wee dip in the pool..... I still can't figure this white shirt thing out. I walk out the front door and flock of angry sea gulls would pummel me with poop, then I would slip in something and land with my back in the mud and to add insult too injury a pony would slime what ever was left with the gross green goo they seem to carry around with them. Thank goodness for dark clothing

Nuttin better than cold fresh sandhills water right from the leadpipe...I'm surprised yur crew didn't take a dip in the tank just to cool off, with this muggy weather we've had lately it'd sure feel good. Don't cha just love sortin yearlings...? They can be so goofy and yet look so good..lol hmmmm kind of like men! Just kidden...Great pictures,,,Thanks again sure enjoyed em.
