The old sun comes up,
And then goes down.
But while it's here,
Its light abounds!

Summer's heat
Or winter's snow.
In the calm of fall,
Or a spring time blow.

It brings us warmth,
It gives us light.
It gently chases,
Away the night.

It spends the day,
High in the sky.
East to west,
It faithfully flys.

And in the evening,
As it goes down,
It puts on a show,
Cross the mountain crown.

Pinks and purple,
And orange hue.
Nature's light show,
For me and you.

God's way of saying,
Hope your day was fine.
Sleep well my child,
Til morning time.

And in the morn,
Returns again,
To bless and shine,
For the souls of men.

Every sunrise,
And each sunset,
Is God's reminder,
He loves us yet!

So send Him thanks,
Morn and night!
For the sun above,
And its perfect light.

Last night while they were saying the prayer before the start of the San Antonio rodeo I was looking out our front window. The sun had gone behind the hills here but was shining brightly against the snow up on Little Lookout. I thought about this poem. So I took a picture of my view from the recliner.
And the sun did come back up again this morning. It got to welcome a new little red calf into the world.

Nope just one solid red calf yesterday. Don't need any of those Hereford calves. Talked to the guys who brought in most of these cows. More Red Angus bulls than anything else. The rest are either black SimmAngus or Charolais.

If I was buying calves these days, I wouldn't care about breed or color, just if they had the build that translated to maximum beef at market time.
