Received mail from Superior Livestock about enforcing the payment options. Anyone else receive this mail this week? If so what are your thoughts on the subject? I guess the only one that works for us is the automatic withdrawel. I don't know if we will do that, we might just stop buying some of our feeders through them and go strictly salebarn or private.

Well if your interested in some Central Mn Feeder calves private treaty I could send you a Brochure from our local Cattlemen's Assn: we have nearly 5000 hd to offer each fall. We have a Tour sponsered by our Assn:in the middle of August if you would like to tour our Ranches. We also have alot of Resort's for vacationing Casino's and Rodeo's among lot's of other things to do that time of year. Our member's sell direct to feeder's such as yourself no middle man.We are about 140 miles north of The Twin Cities..which depending on where your at could save on some trucking. Thanks Denny

Denny, that would be great to send us your brochure. I'll PM our address. I know a local feeder got calves from up there this fall. We can't get to salebarns often so barns that have video has helped us alot. Also word of mouth is a good way. Our last Minnesota cattle came from the Motley area.

Hello
I've been reading your site for awhile and just haven't taken the time to register. I also received the letter from Superior. I don't use them much anyway but did renew my number. I see alot of cattle in the country every year if that would be any help.

feeder - perhaps you could define your interpretation of "enforcing the payment options". Do you think that Superior Livestock Auction expects buyers to pay for their purchases?? Do you think that Superior Livestock Auction should NOT expect the buyers to pay for their purchases?? Or - - -if you sold something to a buyer, would you say, "Oh, that's okay! Don't worry about paying for your purchase. Send me the money - sometime - if you think about it. Otherwise - - forget about it?".

I have not read the mail from Superior Livestock, therefore I am practicing condemnation before investigation - that's why I am asking for your clarification.

I will clarify my statement. I know they prefer you pay by wire transfer or check by overnight delivery. All these years they have accepted a check by regular mail. If the cattle come in on Saturday or late Friday, we don't have wire transfers available that I'm aware of. The automatic withdrawel will work best for us but I liked it the way it was. I do understand Superior has to do everything in their power to insure timely payment.

You can buy cattle from Alabama through the BCIA or the extension system. The put together a lot of smaller producers and make full loads. When they have consigned many loads, they have a video auction and sell the cattle. The local cattlemen like it and I understand the buyers are getting good cattle at a fair price.
I can send you the names of some officials in Alabama that will be glad to get you on the mailing list.
Alabama is a great place to get fall born calves.

Thank you! I presume that they are attempting to minimize the time lag between "SOLD OUT!" and "Transfer of Funds" to reduce the loss of Interest on the 'float' - which, in today's economy, is is significant! The "keys" to the Remuneration game is TIME and MONEY"!

Just PM me when you have some to go. If we have a yard open I'm sure Mr. Feeder would take a look. We too have a truck but only one. Merry Christmas.
