Support bill for beginning farmers

I wasn't sure if this belonged in Ranch Talk or PB.

Reading the comments was enlightening to say the least.
People sure have strange ideas about ranching/farming.

I know for a fact that there are some programs for beginning
farmers in place already. Perhaps there could be, and should
be more. But not to have them owned by the government as
some of the comments imply.

sometimes you need to read what is not being said, or look into the source or author to fully understand the intent of the article..

Farming may have lost some of its importance in Sussex and Warren counties, but current economic conditions are suggesting new ways to prosper here and in other areas of New Jersey, including some urban and suburban farming adventures.

first the author is from New Jersey.. they have some weird view on farming here.. if you keep a weed filled field it is open space and farmland preserved.. but if you actually try to farm it, you run into a barrage of opposition from neighbors, environmentalists, the government and anyone else who can shut you down..

had a friend lose his irrigation well, he didn't have a commercial water use permit, the settlement was to pay a hefty fine and not use the well until he could get a permit, .. that was a few years and thousands of dollars ago, still no coveted EPA permit..

and if you look at the wording. adventures?

WT?

yes new farmers need help.. but getting the government off farmers/ranchers backs would be the most helpful..
