Sure sign Spring is close

We were minus 18 celcius four days ago with two feet of snow and then we got plus 4 with south winds for two days and now have some bare hillsides but still one foot of snow everywhere else.Today was minus 9 with an inch of fresh snow that didn't melt all day.Tomorrow is supposed to get to minus 13 and minus17 the next day.We are about ready for spring and not to sound totally glum I did see red winged blackbirds in the cattails two days ago. Here's hoping for a good calving season for all of us.

Here's also to hoping we all get the water we need this year.I'm not sure if we're out of the drought, but we're certainly alot better off than this time last year.

I don't think we're ever 'out of the drought' out west...some droughts are just better than others

The dogwoods are bloomin!!!

Ws just curious about where you lived in SE Texas when I saw this post about dogwoods. I use to live in Rusk up in East Texas and we had tons o dogwoods between Rusk and Palestine. Am in Central Texas now.

I saw a sure sign spring is close today..... my woodpile is just about gone  But that's about the only sign I've seen :?

Oh man, per, young you ain't! :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

And you have that song rattling around in your head now too.

Plus a few more that it stirred up!! Hey today I heard Hotel California on the RADIO! That guitar solo at the end is classic. Don Henley is THE best ever, IMHO!

But hey, now we've gone and hijacked this thread.

While we are at it, how about this line -

"I was goin' on a trip down to L.A.,
Cruising along in my Chevrolet . . ."

Got the rest?

Sorry Burnt, I'm drawing a blank. I still have Stairway to Heaven taking up too much Ram triggered by "escalator" in that goofy word game.

 We just replenished our wood supply, hopefully that doesn't mean 6 more weeks til tough sledding season.

Next clue - "Tokin' on the line and diggin' on the radio.
Just as I crossed the Mississippi Line,
I heard that highway startin' to whine
an' I knew that left rear tire was about to go . . ."

Back to the topic - we have most of next year's wood cut and still have a bit in the basement for the rest of this season. But March and April can still fool ya!

Well the snow is melting quick enough that i can cut some more bark beetle trees, they seem to stay pretty dry on the stump,so it's nice to take as need be,and then burn the mess right away.

"I don't want to grow up,i'm a " Toys R' Us ""Kid", oh songs from my youth :P  :)

Actually yesterday as I was leavin the pasture. Stopped to open the gate. Arron Tippen's "Kiss This" came on the radio...and since I was gettin out to open the gate, I cranked it so I could hear while I was out of the jeep. LOL....now that song is stuck in my head.
