It is hell to have to constantly be repairing equipment. The equipment problem is symptomatic of another problem - cash flow. Bobby's real problem is mill demand and contractor demand. It is not normalized enough for him to get an income stream that puts him in line for new equipment. He is a smart operator- he knows that if he can just keep repairing his machinery that he can continue producing even with down time. He is controlling his costs by repairing, but this means he has to accept less income due to breakdowns. The only game in town, when you are in this repair cycle is patience and prayer. The other point to remember is that Bobby is providing for an extended family as well as the crew member families in his crews. He has done a heck of a job in this regard and few execs in America could do this on a daily basis. If Bobby could open up other avenues of business related to his swamp loggers, say for example merchandising, he might be able to get over the cash flow crunch.
