Went by the local Dairy Queen for a burger . I was busy and it was an hour before I got to try to eat it. The coke was watery but better than nothing. I opened the little box to take out my cold cheesburger and cold grease laden fries . Out crawled a teenage roach. I boxed the little cold sandwich back up and pitched it in the trash. Beans and cornbread for supper tonight . A good glass of butter milk to go with it and I'll be set. The best part about supper is , no roaches.

OH DEAR GOD!!!!   I wish I had seen this before I ordered my lunch from the little restaurant across from our hospital......you guessed it.....DAIRY QUEEN!!!   Just finished a bacon cheeseburger when I read this...gonna have to see how long she stays down now!!!

Not to worry, ranchwife. We don't have roaches in Montana!! :P

depends on what you define as a "roach"......many of our "roaches" will be leaving with the Labor Day holiday or, at the very latest, when the snow flies and they all go "home"

You haven't been to some of the "finer spots" of Montana then FH-- I was working a homicide in one of the flop house hotels once when we were worried the cockroaches were going to pack the body away before we could...When we first turned the light on it looked like the whole room was moving.....

I doubt he's kidding. Here when a cow is struck by lightening in the summer if you wait a day to drag it off, there is thousands upon thousands of roaches crawling out of every orifice . Nasty sight indeed.

I could tell the roach was a teenager because it was where it shouldn't have been at a time it shouldn't have been out. It was moving fast. It was shifty and wouldn't look me in the eye . Lastly I asked it a few questions and it just gave me that blank look. I did the humane thing and put him down quickly FH.

Ranchwife don't worry , what the roach eats in your stomach won't put any weight on you.

I dont know why you girls are making such a big deal of eatin a lil ole cocka roach,I here tell they have alot of protein, them ole thorny legs might be a lil hard to swallow tho :D :D ...................good luck

Yeap, I'd imagine a cockroach leg would hang up bout the same as a grass hopper leg. What's bad is.....ya can't git it up, and ya can't git it down, and ya gotta go fish for it.

Dad n Law (but he wasn't at the time, before we got married) shot a turkey one time, thru the craw(sp) and it lodged a grasshopper leg in MY piece of the turkey breast. I didnt leave the table, I just got that  look....turned my back...did what I had to do, laid that lil bugger on the edge of my plate and continued eatin. He seen what I had done, and aint never forgot it. I give him a hard time about it ever chance I git.

I hope you are kidding.

You are kidding, RIGHT? :? :???: :P

That day I really wish I had been kidding... That flophouse is gone- but we always wondered where all the roaches went when they dozed it down :???: FH-I'll bet you could find plenty on most the res's...I know years ago when I was working drugs in Billings their was plenty to go around down on Montana Ave and the southside....

I'd say it's hard to be lady like and scratch a grasshopper leg out of the back of your throat.
