Surprised that Valens and Bopper weren't mentioned for the day the music died as it was just Buddy Holly..

I know I'm getting old-- I got them all right--but what is bad is I can't get the song "in the jungle, the mighty jungle" out of my mind now...

Grandma thinks I'm losing it when I walked around singing the song...

cute video- if you just want to hear it.....

The song goes back to the 30's...Is it a wimpowhap or wimoweh?
Alan Lomax brought the song to the attention of Pete Seeger of the folk group The Weavers', it was on one of several records Lomax loaned to Seeger.[1] After having performed the song for at least a year in their concerts, in November, 1951, they recorded their version entitled "Wimoweh", a mishearing of the original song's chorus of 'uyimbube' (meaning "you're a lion").

I'm old too, got 'em right BUT you got that song started in my head so I watched the animation of the song. Too cute. Now I can sing it all day long :o The song was one of my favorites, I have the 45. I still have a stereo that plays 8 tracks and vinyl records.

I didn't watch the Lone Ranger that much. I was more in the era of Gunsmoke and Bonanza, and Little House on the Prairie. I grew up with three older brothers that were big fans of "The Rifleman" it was pure-dee dangerous growin up in my house....lol never knew when one of em was gonna be "practicin" LOL Or all three at one time!!!
I"ll never forget the Christmas that two of them got 410 shotguns. Oh man they thought they was hot stuff. LOL

Just a kid   I asked my youngest daughter (21) the test-- she got 2 right- the song and the hula hoop...1/2 right on the VW as she answered Bug and Herbie car....

But she couldn't believe or figure out why anyone would want to burn bras- what good would that do :???: Thing is I really had no answer for her as I thought that whole hippie and protest stuff was crazy......

Thinkin back to the "bras" that my momma had. I can see why they'd wanna burn em. Oldtimer......if ya ever wore one, you'd know why LOL (the 60s models)
They must be way more comfy and cushy these days. Them old one's looked like some kinda torture devices. All them metal hooks and loops, no way could they have been comfortable to wear.

Laundry day at our house always brought forth someone (usually me) foldin the "white clothes".......we referred to them as "momma's contraptions" they was impossible to fold.

I just gave Lil Lilly the test.....she's 16. (Middle aged???) LOL
She got
#3 Route 66
#5 The lion sleeps tonight (from the Lion King)
#6 Limbo
#7 Chocolate
#12 Beetle / Bug
#15 Hoolahoop

And now we've had our daily lesson on what bra's and girdles looked like back then........lol and she asked..what's that thing called that you laced up the back? LOL A corset (thank the good Lord we don't hafta wear those no more)

Oh I remember the old hooks- back in college days I could one hand them in about 2 seconds flat

Now I wish if they had to burn something it would have been those pantyhose-- they were definitely a trade barrier...
