After cow punching for nigh on fifty years, a Texas cowboy went on to his reward. There was considerable excitement in heaven when he reached the pearly gates. The arrival of a real Texan cowboy was considered something of an event in heaven. Saint Peter himself came right over and insisted on giving the cowpoke a tour. Things were right friendly-like until the cowboy spotted half-a-dozen cowpokes staked out like broncos.

"Why are all those men staked out?" he asked Saint Peter.

Saint Peter replied: "Those are cowboys from the Panhandle. Every time we let them loose, they try to go back to Texas!"

went to visit a freind in tx awhile back, after i got the grand tour of the home place he started tellin how it took him 3 days to drive from one side of his place to the other.told him i understood i owned a chevy truck once myself.

look and see where I'm from. That was a good one. But you know... the Bible says that in the new earth that the high places will be made flat and the low places will be raised up....that sounds like the Texas panhandle to me so maybe it really isnt a joke

. . . well the panhandle may seem like heaven. . .but in the central plains of texas this year our cows are still in belly high grass and think that they are all in heaven. .it has been a great year.

That is true, we've got some good grass this year. I notice you are from Rosebud, and I believe I met you at the West sale when you were talking with Joe V. in the cafe.
