S.S.A.P (Connie) and her husband Don DeLorme drove the 400 plus miles up to Meadow Lake to judge our local 4H show-did a great job sorting some very good 4H calves. Our club gave them some money to cover their fuel and Connie-the sneak-gave it back to Ty and made him keep it till they left so she wouldn't have to argue about keeping it. Connie and Don run a big outfit and are very busy people and it was so gratifying to have them come up to spend some time. Ty didn't get Don his bear but they saw a wall hanger lol. The 4H sale was awesome today-one of the rodeo kids sold his steer for $6010 a new record for our district-by the way Don had made the calf Grand Champion at our club level the day before. The steer had an interesting past-our neighbors PB Angus bull had jumped into the kids Mom and Dad's herd of cows a few years ago. He bred their only PB cow and she had a bull calf-that bull calf grew up and sired the $6,000 steer. The sale was unbelievable with the lowest selling calf still bringing $1.50/lb. It was Ty's last achievement day-he's been in 4H 13 years-ALOT of memories. Sara won showmanship at the district show today so she was pumped-not bad for Sask's prettiest hitchhiker-ehh Connie lol.

Sounds like ya'll have had a wonderful time the last few days.

Our County Fair starts tomorrow. Where Lil Lilly will compete in the
Team Penning
Sorting
Ranch Trail
Ranch horse confirmation

Then Friday they do the Speed events.
Poles
Strait aways
Barrels
Goat Tying

Then Monday she will show her goat.

No Heifers to show this year, We pulled 5 good one's out....then the owner of our local salebarn talked her into sellin them in December at a replacement sale.

Wow, that is quite a sale. Good for the kids!!

Ours doesn't happen until the end of this month at Frontier Days in Swift Current. We did have our achievement day on Monday. I was happy with how our kids did, and thought it was well done. Our judges were Wade Bertram and his daughter Kaylee (I think  ) from Piapot.

Ty rodeos with Wade's boys Casey and Brady there a good bunch of guys-I think his daughter's name is Kylie. The SHSRA rodeo finals start tomorrow so not much of a break around here-Ty's up in bulls, bares and broncs. I had a brain fart yesterday Sara won judging not showmanship.

Would like to wish Ty well with all his mounts at the finals.

It's so nice to have good folks behind your 4H FFA, and Fair activities. Makes all the difference in the world when you have good'ns and none of it could be done without their help.

I think our record steer at our County Fair is $13,000. The last couple years they've brought between $10 and $11,000. Ours don't sell by the pound. Still nothin to sneeze at, cuz that $6000 will go a long ways to help that kid pay for college.
