harvest is gearing up here, and with it comes everyone taking short cuts to get to the "pay day"
yesterday, an older neighbor of mine got a foot caught in an auger. I am not sure yet how bad it is, they rushed him on up to Grand Island because he has both knees already replaced, and that is where his surgeon was from.

everyone just take a moment to think before you try to save a few minutes this fall !

Good point Jigs. Yesterday a 23 year old neighbor fell off his combine getting a grain sample and was run over by the back wheel. Got a helicopter ride to the hospital and is in serious condition.

Take care. We had 4 baler fires alone last week out of our fire department.
Pay attention, keep a first aid kit and fire equipment on hand and take some time off for family and rest. I think that applies to livestock operations pretty well too.

Yeah....rest sounds good. I've got bearings to replace in 72 packer wheels.....dirt blowing like crazy. Crap!

That is the truth. It was just a year ago when I wasn't paying attention to business and got my finger pinched off in a pumpjack. That was because there was no wind to turn the windmills. Today the wind howled. :roll:
