This was composed maybe a hundred years ago, but it still holds true
today. It is hand-written on a placard in our accountant's office,
and never fails to attract attention.
The Cow
Is responsible for the great development of our nation. From her,
great herds multiplied. Transportation systems, packing plants,
and factories have been built, that employ over fifty percent of
our labor in converting her by-products into the necessities of life.
If, at one noon day meal, in every home in our nation, the by-products
of the cow, such as milk, butter, cheese, meat, and shoes, were taken
away, we would be left hungry, bare-footed, and jobless, and it would
result in the worst human catastrophe of the ages.
We owe a great tribute to the cow.
