I haven't been on much the past month or so because we have been haying non stop. I just wanted to give a good report since so many are experiencing such hard times. Last year our part of the county had the worst drought we had seen in 60 years. It was a very trying time on everyone. Droughts seem to last multiple years and many producers fed all the hay they had and bought just to make it till spring. We had a roller coaster spring topped with a snow in May, and many people thought the hay crop would be bad. We put all our own hay up and also custom work for neighbors and friends. Our circle last year yielded 1394 round bales and I just finished this afternoon and that same circle made 4366 bales this year. Praise God is all I can say, he has taken care of us this year and I couldn't be more thankful. I pray that all of you that are struggling get the moisture when and how you need it.

Good for you! My eyes got opened up today when I called around getting prices from feedlots and producers on what grass hay was worth.

Jigs is about 45 miles from me, and grass in his area was selling for $100-120/ton LESS than in my area.

What a difference a few extra showers and a few short miles can make!

I am glad you are getting the rain, hay and heat you need. You need to make an appearance more often though.

I don't own a computer and have to borrow one to get online, that coupled with 18 hour days has really cut down on the time being online. Hopefully my schedule will allow more time now!
