The mighty Valentine Badgers battled in District competition Friday and Saturday to send 6 Badgers to Omaha for the state wrestling meet.
Going to the qwest center with a skinned cheek and a high sprain ankle is the tougher than snot 135 pounder... His awesome strength will hopefully put him in the medals round.... Look out cause this farm boy is on a mission...
Also the ever flambouant 140 pound badger with the district title will dazzle his way to the medal rounds. We are expecting big things from this senior badger.
Next is the 145 pounder who has paid his dues for four years wrestling at jv and varsity to fill weights. This academic badger has a schoarlship to UNL in the medical field if he wants it........ This badger can get the job done.
We have the 152 pounder who had a vary tough district, only to fight and claw his way to the glory road. If not this year for medals next year this young badger will own his weight class.
Our inspiration of the year goes to our 171 pounder, who as a senior walked on the wrestling mat for the first time and not only won the varsity spot, but will take that gorious ride to Omaha.. A fine young man who is persuing a medical career.

Next is our big six foot five 215 pounder. My youngest son's hero. Not only is he awesome on the mat, but will take the time to talk tractors to a nine year old boy. This big man will be a force to be reckened with.

And finally our big bad meanest(not) badger of all our heavy weight.
This young man goes into state as the best in his weight. A true leader and a real asset to our badger team......
GO BADGERS!!!!!!!!!!
I will get pictures up as soon as I can..........

Great to hear Katrina..Our local boys took State and set a new point record doing it....17 qualified for state-- and 13 out of 17 on the team made it into point contention- and we ended up with 3 State Champions...

My son said the highlight - but kind of the saddest part of the whole event too, was that the neighbor kid that lives a mile west of us- had to wrestle the neighbor kid that lives 2 miles east of us :o ...One ended up taking 6th- the other ended up State Champ...

Glasgow notched 254 points, which broke the old B-C record for points at the state tournament, previously set by Conrad, which scored 240 in 1995.
