So here's the only foundation pics I have downloaded so far, and some renovation pics. Many, many, many more to come.

If I never see lathe and plaster walls again, it won't hurt my feelings one bit.

You certainly took on a huge undertaking. One i'm really enjoying,Thanks for sharing this.

Me too, especially since having experience removing lathe and plaster. Much more fun on PC's job.

I missed the purpose of moving the depot to your place, but what are you're plans for it? Looks like a neat building.

If you start with the thread,I know what you did last summer and follow it you'll get the story and more cool pictures... :)

Hmmmmm....looks like there's alot of chemicals in that building. Asbestos, lead paint, arsenic.....the works! :P :D

Ironically enough, CP Rail had just conducted an environmental assessment on the building - 3rd party. It was mandatory for their development permit to demolish and rebuild a new structure. There was one small storage room that had lead-based paint on the walls. The exterior window paint is lead based, and the exterior window caulking was the only thing with significant levels of asbestos. There were trace amounts of asbestos in one wall, where a different kind of insulation had been used. The inspector figures that it was the only original insulation left, and that the other had been replaced sometime in the last 100 years. They had been expecting to find alot more than they did, but lucky for us, it's pretty clean. The assessment was something like 30 pages of technical crap I had to go through with the local Building Inspector and Alberta Health Inspector. Very stimulating.

Glad to see your restoring the old station.

Make sure you take precautions and don't breath the dust.
