dense fog here this morning. Visability is only a few hundred yards. Had a few sprinkles and light showers over the weekend but hardly anything that could be measured. I did put my rain gauge out now, may have to bring it back in if it gets down to freezing temperature again

Looks like we may get about three days of threatening weather. The wind is in the ESE direction, looks to be heading to the NE. My Dad always said when the wind goes around that way, then to the NW we can expect a lot of rain or snow. Snow storms from the NE often dump a lot of snow on us in a short time. Take care, it is best not to get to far from home.

Has been a blizzard here since early morning.

Snow accumulation... up to an inch of additional accumulation.
Storm totals will mainly be from 3 to 6 inches... with the
heaviest amounts from Baker east toward the North Dakota state
line.

* Winds... north 15 to 30 mph.

* Impacts... reduced visibility due to snow and blowing snow and
snow covered and slippery roads will make travel difficult.
Young livestock could be stressed by the cold... wet
conditions.

In the Black Hills, the prediction is for 15-20" of snow.
What is fustrating is that we wait all winter for moisture and then
it comes during calving. But every rancher I know would give up
a calf or two for the moisture. And this is a wet snow.

Winds here today. This am, the dirt was blowing off the pastures like the dustbowl days. A little snow off & on, but not a good storm; pretty expensive. Lost one, and had one calf that was born yesterday that has lost an eye. don't know if it was hit with debris or injured under the loafing shed, but is now one eyed jack (or jennifer in this case). Winds sustained at 49mph, gusts to 61.
