Went for a fart buster on my bike today when it turned left voluntarily on the gravel road. Trying to stop a east bound cow that should have been west. Wasn't going more than 6-7 mph and laid the bike on it's side. Scattered me and other paraphanalia all over the place.

Right hind leg is gibbled up some. Hope it's just a pulled muscle and not a broken hip. Everything moves like it should, just can't put any weight on it.

Just what we needed at this time of the year.

Sorry to hear of your bike wreck, Gcreek. A good friend had a horse roll over his leg which buggered up his ankle, so horses aren't necessarily the fool-proof answer either. For ranchers, there are lots of ways to get hurt, but never a good time for it to happen. Hope you get healed up fast.

Hope your OK.
Dad had a friend down east that was turning on the pavement and the quad went over breaking his shoulder.

Mine dumped me off in a snow bank a while back. It happens fast.

I hope it's not too serious and you heal up soon. Deb's gonna think you do these things on purpose!

I made it through the 8 km ride after it happened so guess I will live. 2 good muscle relaxers haven't eased it off yet.

Hired guy is back in the AM.

Guess the sloppy steering will get repaired now.

Sure hope it's nothing more serious than a pulled muscle Gcreek. It sure happens quick.

Had the exact same thing happen a couple of years ago except she was going flat out when she spooked at a wire down on the ground and turned left. The bike ran up her back leg and I flew off. Caught enough air that I had time to roll up into a ball and land with a round thud instead of flat. Helped a lot except for the little stone that made a poor pillow under my arm.

Get better there Gcreek!! One of these days we are bringing a bus load of Ranchers up to see you.

Bikes and gravel never have mixed very well. Hope you heal up soon!

My bike weighs about 900 lbs but gravel is still like trying to roll over marbles. I avoid it whenever possible.

Right now would be a perfect time to visit. Make sure there is a hoe operator, couple of fencers, an irrigator, and 2-3 cowboys armed for bear in the mix.

Got about 4 hours sleep on the couch last night, bed was too hard to lay on. Haven't taken a pain killer since midnight. They weren't doing much and I just as well get all the benefits of this wreck as I can. Neighbor sent me some crutches that are 8 inches too short, they are better than the chair I was using for the 20 minute round trip to the toilet.

Deb's going to haul me to the vet's tommorow and x-ray me to see if I'm worth saving or put me down. The eight hour round trip should be fun.

Nothing too good for a cowboy. :D

I sure feel guilty leaving Deb with a bunch of extra work.

Face it your getting old :!: :D

I went down twice this winter, once on the icy back steps and the point of my hip hurt to look at it but it was my rotator cuff that bothered me the most. The second time I was bowled over in the round pen. Didn't think much of it at the time but man did I bruise. Biggest baddest one ever.

Just takes longer to get over it.

I' sure the car ride will really help. :o

I'm sorry to hear of your wreck. In fact I'm sorry enough that I won't even give you a hard time! It is sure a good thing that you can still sit at the computer though. Hope you get right really soon. Also condolences to Debby. :-)
