Got a phone call today in the truck-Ty found his little sorral mare with the blue roan stud colt dead this A'M. She was fine last time we saw her-the only thing I can think of is she got hit by lightning-now I have an orphan colt to try and save. I got a big old gentle Belgian mare right on to foaling-hope I can convince her that two foals are better than one-she milks real heavy so sure she could feed two. Got the 'wee blue stud' back today-15 hour trip lol.

She was looking good a few days back-haven't talked too Ty yet but can imagine he's not very happy.

She's Kings Vagabond Socks 3461012-one of our few papered mares no relation to the mare I lost through the ice. I wonder how you could get that stuff you mentioned up to the Great White North. Ty's got him with that old Belgian mare right now.

What kind of mail service do you get?
I'd see what the cost would be to UPS it or whatever it is you have for
service. Not being familiar with Canada, it seems you have mentioned
before that you are a long way from Big Muddy Rancher so getting it to
him is probably not an option. If it would be, Roger Trang can get it
that far. I don't think you have to feed it too long before you can go
on some pellets for colts. I can find out the details if needed.

Dang it NR that is horrible. I have been there, and I was fortunate that another mare I had took the colt as hers along with the one she had. Of course the colt was the type he was hungry and once he found out she had milk, he really did not take no for an answer. He was 3 wks old when he lost his mom. The vet gave me some type of booster paste that helped him keep up his strength, and dang he did well. Hopefully the big mare will take yours and go on. Let us know how it goes.

Just ashame how things work out, that was a good looking mare.

If I can help let me know. I could be mailed to Raymond MT and we could remail it from sask if that would help. I am sure that the mail would be fairly slow on packages tho. Sorry about your mare.

Good luck on saving that colt, somtimes it seems like."If it weren't for bad luck a guy wouldn't have any luck at all".Thats too bad for Ty :(

Dang, that's too bad. I'm so sorry about the mare, but it's a lot of work raising an orphan colt. Ty certainly has his work cut out for him, if the Belgain doesn't agree to the deal.

Prayers and hugs for you guys.........
