anything fun to do around this area - family oriented attractions anywhere near here. going there on July 6th and wondering if I should bring my wife and kids or if it would just be a long boring drive for them - cause they don't get the same out of seeing new country or looking at cattle as i do.

That's a way west of us but there is the T-Rex museum in Eastend. Slip over to Cypress park and down to Fort Walsh.

Do you know people at Tompkins?

I know the Slades a bit.

Interesting you mention Eastend....one of my new clients ministered in Eastend.....LOVED it and wishes she would have settled there.I love this dear lady and am happy she didn't settle there :)

Fort Walsh is great as is Cypress Hills!!

ahhh - got my bookwork done so we can leave for the rest of the week to go and help the folks at bigfork (probably our summer vacation).

Do you know people at Tompkins?

Jack Sumner - i think he used to live around consul or maybe it was consort... can't remember. now i guess he is at tompkins.

That drive through the Cypress Hills from Sask. to Alberta is pretty sweet. You can swing to down S.S.A.P's at Robsart and see some great Angus catytle and Paint horses-Eastend has the T-Rex museum and Wallace Stegner's childhood home-he wrote some great novels about prairie life. There's alot of other stuff to see and do all over Saskatchewan if you poke around a bit.

Hereford76 - I spent the afternoon riding in site of the Sweet Grass Hills!! Bear Paws and Cherry Ridge also. Our summer grass is 12 miles north of the border. Come on up through the Willow Creek Port north of Havre.

Ranch Rodeo in Maple Creek is July 4 - Murraydale Rodeo is July 12 (101 years young).... as well as the sites already mentioned. We are 30 mins south of Cypress Hills Park. 30 mins to the East of us is the T-Rex center. From there you can go over "the bench" and you'll come out on the north side pretty close to Jack's. We've done a bit of socializing  with Jack.

Keep us in mind. :-)

Hay all it's D'

You SK people are forgetting the best part about that country and that is the sandhills If you know someone who can take you just north of Piapot there is some good ones there on Bowe's place or you can go up to Septre and see the ones up there along with the museum. Its about 1 hr north of Tompkins.

Really do miss that country some days

The best way to enjoy the sandhills is during mule deer season-we've shot some great bucks down there over the years. I love walking that rough broken country.
