We been looking at picking up a new 20' stock trailer- and have been hearing folks talking highly about Trailman Trailers- but still haven't seen any....I know there is a dealer in Belgrade- and possibly one in Chinook that handles them- but haven't made the trip yet.....

Anybody had any experience with them?

I told my son if I had to go all the way to Belgrade to get one- I might as well have Denny build me one and then go a little further the other direction and look at his cows/bulls as I pick it up... He especially thought it was neat that Denny could paint them any color you want- because some where he saw a blue colored trailer he really liked but it was a 28'...

OT, I think they are ok, outside of the fact they pull really heavy.

It would probably be really hard to beat one of Denny's trailers.

Another problem we found with all that were on the lots was they all had solid swinging center gates- and I want a center gate that swings and slides...

We have a Trailmann trailer (at least the one we have is spelled with two n's). It is 6'8" wide and 16' long, and a bumper hitch trailer. It is very heavy built and heck for stout. Ours has a sliding center gate and a sliding rear gate. I wouldn't want a stock trailer that didn't have a sliding center gate. We have sure had no trouble with our Trailmann trailer. The only slight complaint I have with it, is that what should be a gravel guard around the bottom front and the fenders just seems to be black paint. Whatever it is, it right away turned a splotchy white color, so the trailer lost its "new" look fairly rapidly. It has sure been a good outfit though.

OT, Trailmann trailers are built in Waterville, KS by a fellow named Fred Mann, thus the two "n's". I think he builds a quality trailer. Also built in Waterville is the Titan trailer. I looked at both for a long time and when I bought mine I bought a Titan simply because they were very similar trailers but the Titan was about $1,000 less money. I suspect the Trailmann is worth the extra money as it is a heavy built trailer. I'm sure you can get it with a sliding center gate. Fred began his business as a farm shop about 40 years ago and it is still a family business located in the same little town. He must be doing something right to have had a successful business for so many years. I certainly don't mean to take anything away from Denny as his pictures look like top notch trailers. Most manufacturers have web sites or brochures you can study.

Oldtimer,I just sent a 20' Blue Gooseneck to Glasgow a month ago and a 26' Blue Gooseneck to Miles City 2 weeks ago.I met the guy from Glasgow out in the middle of North Dakota.

The man from Glasgow said he rent's ground from yer uncle.

Yep- actually from me now as the son and I bought the last shares of the old homestead last year  but it will always be known as my uncles place - and now I know where Otto got his trailer....I haven't seen it yet, but heard he had a pretty new blue one- and will sneak up and take a look at it...
He probably doesn't want to see me coming as the last time we bent an elbow together I talked his son into taking a puppy   (well actually it took no talking for the son- but a little to convince dad) They are great people- and great neighbors and have definitely been lots of help for my uncle, since he's 86 years old- and about his closest neighbor...

We bought a new Titan in 1990 with the bull package. It was heck for stout and it pulled like it. We had problems with the paint and I called the Titan place in Waterville, KS. Talked to the owner and he was most cordial. Helped us repaint the trailer and sent us the decals. I was impressed with him and getting through to him with no problems.

Jeff Younkin bought that trailer from us in 1999, I believe. He might still be pulling it.

I've got a '94 Titan 20' I bought used. The silver paint of course is nothing to brag about and it's getting kinda bald on top.

I'm "in the process" of painting the interior walls and floor of the trailer with aluminum enamel. What I've done so far makes it look like a new poor man's aluminum trailer inside!

My trailer does have a slider interior gate. I have used the feature exactly once and not in my own operation. So my question to you folks who say an interior slider is a must-have feature, what do you use it for?

This one-time (hopefully!) event was when I was helping a cousin who borrowed my trailer haul a Corriente cow and bull to the sale barn.

I determined the best way to get the Corriente bull in the trailer and still have fences and a corral standing was to use the Corriente cow in heat as bait. That bull would follow that cow ANYWHERE!

The cow was still seeking to elude the bull so she loaded in the trailer easily with the bull in hot pursuit. Once the cow entered the trailer the slider allowed her into the front portion of the trailer. Then opened the rear slider and let the bull in the rear portion of the trailer.

Then let the cow in front out the side escape door (no problem with the large horns), bull goes to front through center slider, and the other cow to go to sale gets loaded in the rear.

Now we're all set to go except for my aunt's half ton Ford trailer plug is not wired compatible with my trailer and the brakes are energized. So we pulled the plug and sent my cousin on to town with instructions to avoid cops and be mindful of the 20' steel trailer behind with 2 Corrientes and no brakes! :P

I hope to not repeat this scenario anytime soon!

I build them and absolutely hate slide center gates. But that's just because they have so many little parts and it take's an extra hour to assemble. The thing that get's me are all these Horse/Stock combo's with the slant dividers they take them out the first time they use it and never put them back in.If they knew what a pain in the A$$ they are they would'nt order them.I will put them in but there going to cost alot.I won't even build a So Called "Horse Trailer" they = Broke people with big Dream's.

We have a 1998 24 Foot GN Trailmann 2000. It is super heavy built. It pulls real hard due to being a tall trailer. We got ours with a charcoal grey. The paint is terrible on top and is mostly gone. Workmanship is excellent, but paint is bad and it pulls hard. I think they are probably one of the tougher trailers on the market!

Well I guess my son found the trailer he wants...He didn't want to wait to have one built- so has been hunting for what he liked and found one in Dickinson (a trailer sales he remembered from his old college days there)- so I'm taking a day away from the place and going to ride along over to pick it up... Its a 24 foot Metallic Silver colored Titan Classic (he's sticking with the Titans that we've pulled forever) that has 3 sections- and sliders on every gate...
I do like the set up of this trailers floorplan with the uneven size compartments 6'front-8' center- 10'rear....We seem to always need a couple compartments to split a couple cows and calves - or bulls - and then need another for a horse or 4 wheeler....I don't know how many times I've had to just throw the old horse in with some bulls and let him fight it out- this way I can keep them separate...

Long day-- but I was sure glad to get back to country where we been getting at least some moisture...That western ND looks awful dry- and even my son commented about how the grass in the barrow pits is looking yellow....
We got back closer to Gods country- and the sky was black- and it started raining about 30 miles south of the Missouri- but it all stayed south of the river and we got nothing but sprinkles...

We have friends up around Grassy Butte-Kildeer, ND. The last time I talked to them they said it was awfully dry there,so much so, they might have to sell off some cows. That country is usually pretty good, moisture wise, so I was suprised. I was really hoping they got some out of this storm system that has been around since May 1.

I bet you'll like that Titan tailer, OT.
