Took a trip to Holden yesterday to pick up some roofing for our barn. I hate spending on depreciating assets, but since our barn was built in 1918 I figure I owe it something instead of the other way around. (I will try to get some before and after shots).
There were a lot of harvesters going. It seems everyone and their dog is going. One thing we noticed and discussed in our vehicle is the difference even in the last 5 - 10 years. There are a lot of 60+ year old combine drivers, and it seems that there are not as many wifes/kids/grandkids driving graintrucks as their used to be.
The most successful people at keeping youth in agriculture around here seem to be the Hutterites.
