Trumpeter Swans are roosting out in the snow in the hay meadow closest to the house, kind of look like big bump of snow except the signets sticks out, and the black on the head of the adults. only been a couple dozen, a year or 2 ago we counted over 70 one evening .
The river here has a lot of warm springs and takes a lot of -30 to -40 to freeze it over

I've got a few pastures where they nest the landowneris really into wildlife and has habitat set aside for them. This summer the one pair had 6 young the other 4.Really neat to see up close as they don't seam to be bothered by the cows or a pickup. Had 8 fly over the house early this week must have heard the weather forcast for today and got the hell out of here.
