We had a set of twins, the cow who lost her baby is now the proud mother of one of the twins!! Will post a pic of proud mom and baby as soon as I get one.

NIce picture-cows look really good! Do you get quite a few sets of twins in your fall calving cows? Seem like we usually do for some reason. And in the spring calving cows some yrs we have several sets of twins and others yrs. not many. Our fall calvers will start around Oct. 1. Like to wait til it cools off some down here in KS and winter wheat drilling is about complete-other wise be would calf them about when you are. Hope all goes well for you :!: :)

Rowdy, we do get more twins with fall calving cows, not sure if it is because they get so fat in the summer or what, we usually get 12-15 sets so Hanta has three nurse cows that raise the extras in a commune. I think last year we ended up with 7 calves on the three cows. If a cow looses a calf, we get one out of the commune and put on her.
Ranchy, the twins momma is fine, she can raise the one twin, we rarely let even an old cow try to raise two, they seem to missplace one of them or they just start stealing milk from anyone in the herd.
Katrina, you always have the right attitude!!!

the babies are the best part of calving time.....spindly legs that wobble and ears and eyes that make up the better part of the head!! Congrats on the beautiful twins, mcg!!! :D :D
