Just have time for a short note, to let you all know what was going on, as of last night, with Hubby.
We got to UNMH at 9:30 yesterday, as planned, got him admitted, and spent about 5 minutes in the surgery waiting room. While we were there, Dad arrived, so I had his company for the day (Thank God, I don't know if I'da survived by myself). Hubby spent the next hours lying in a bed, waiting to be taken for surgery. They finally got him out of pre-op at 1:25pm. Dad and I just hung around, waiting for news. Three hours into surgery, his doc, a really good one (he's head of the Neurosurgery Dept here) came and said that it was more complicated than they had anticipated. They'd called in an ENT to go through Hubby's nose, to the tumor behind, and it would be another hour (at least) in surgery.
As soon as they were finished, Dr. Yonas (pronounced E-own-es) came back, and said the tumor was much larger than they had thought, but the good news is that it's also a really slow growing kind, and it had probably been growing there for 20+ years, it just finally got big enough that it started interfering with his vision. As of that time, they were 99% sure it's a BENIGN Menengioma (however you spell it). By about 6:30, they had him in the Neurosciences ICU, and Dad and I were able to spend some time with him. He was still pretty "out" from the anesthetic, but wanted a drink of water. I guess we overdid, cause then he got sick at his stomach. The nurse (a real angel) got him some medicine for nausea, and he was feeling better pretty quick. At one point, his right eye actually moved to the outside, and I think they took enough pressure off the optic nerve and muscles that control his eye, that it's starting to work again. He was in good spirits (when he was awake) last night, and was looking forward to a good night's sleep.
They had him scheduled for a CT Scan about 3:00 this morning, then after the docs look over that and confer, they should have a plan of attack by shortly after 9:00 this morning. When we know more, I'll be in touch again. Thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers, I believe they have been/are being answered as I type.
Love ya!

Prayers are still being sent ya'lls way. May the good Lord keep his hand upon CowboyUp and his drs as well as you and your family while waiting for recovery.

Cowboyup?

Am I missing something?

I thought Ranchy's husband didn't have a name yet? :???:

I think Cowboyup belongs with Ranchwife.

Wouldn't want the prayers to miss the intended person. :-)

LOL Well it was the thought that counts....the good Lord knows who it was for. Even if I did call him Cowboyup.......Ranchy...Ranchwife....I was at least close. Who knows...maybe both will benefit from the prayers. :D We all need prayers in some way shape or form......lol I seem to need prayers in the memory department.

Brings to mind a memory or I guess I should say memories of spendin summers with my grandma. We'd climb in bed and she'd pray out loud....for any and all who were sick or hurt in any way whether they were church members, neighbors....whoever had been mentioned at church durin prayer requests...then she'd name off each and every one of her 7 daughters..their husbands....1 son and his wife...all 38 of the grandkids...and 10 or so great grandkids....each and every one by name. I usually fell asleep to the sound of my grandma prayin, it took her a while, but oh, what special memories those are.

Might have somethin' to do with why and how you pray now . :)
