Well, sombody might mention that all the cheerleading by the radio guy doesn't show up on the scoreboard. Our own Max is alot the same except he remembers Wilt and Sayers and everything back over 60 years so I give him a pass.
THey were partiularly silly last year doing the Kansas Nebraska hoops game, and our walkons/reserves were the ones that pushed the margine out to 60. I found if I go up on a high hill I can get Jayhawk skips out of Salina - about 500 miles.
everyones radio guy needs to be a homer, but Rose is a dusche bag. really full of himself. just hard to listen to him....unless NU is losing!! then I really like to tune him in.
of course the KSU guy, Wyatt Thompson, is as crappy as can be. I miss Greg Sharp and Mitch Holtus! they were awesome! Mitch knows his sports. on his Chiefs reports, you call in and askhim the mascot of any Kansas high school, and he knows it! even ones who were closed 50 yrs ago!.
yeah, Mitch is pretty good, and not so bad a cheerleader as some. I like to knit pik officiating as much as the next lout, but that should almost never be the subject of the radio guys. Mitch as a cheerleader to an acceptible point.
Problem with most radio guys for colleges is they think tehy are part of the program.. Kind of like the Iowa announcers defending Alfords handling of the Pierre Pierce incident that was just dispicable or the Illinois guys standing behind Webers handling of the accident this past fall..... I understand tehy are employed at the pleasure of the schools an such so they don't want to irritate them but god, it gets painfull at times.
