I was wondering if anybody has used Intra-nasal vaccine at weaning the same time giving the IM shot. Just wondering if the faster acting intra-nasal would get to work and the IM shot the booster?

Could I save a trip through the chute?

The way it was explained to me, the intranasal MLV primes the immune response for a following injectable MLV. After last year's pneumonia wreck, I did Inforce 3 at branding, Bovishield Gold 5 MLV as they got on the truck to go to the forest in June, and Bovishield Gold 5 when I brought them home September 5. So far I've not treated a pneumonia. It could be just a better year, but I wonder with all of the dry, hot, dusty conditions we've had this summer. Hopefully they'll stay healthy another 72 hours, then bye bye!!!

Used to use Nasalgen intranasal, and now using Inforce 3. and really like it. Give it at branding in spring and either at precondition if we have time to precondition or when we wean. This is the first summer that i havent treated one calf for some sort of respiratory problem(so far). The response during high stress times it much better with intranasal and one less poke. And even though some drops back out on ground, it is supposed to be on contact so dont think you are waisting your money. Got a good friend that calls it "concrete medicine" because of the stuff dripping back out of nose, but he still swears by it.

Our friends who used to wean without preconditioning used to use Nasalgen and an IM shot at weaning. Didn't booster and it worked for them.
