Vandals strike farm, put milk at risk

Vandals at a West Lincoln farm, according to this story, put Ontario's milk supply at risk this week, but a police investigation ensured the milk did not go to market.
An investigation Thursday into damaged equipment and vehicles at a dairy farm on Thirty Road in West Lincoln led to concerns when Niagara Regional Police discovered the vandals had poured liquid herbicide around the farm. A shipment of milk had left the farm early Thursday morning, causing fears of contaminated milk being sold to the public.
The story says that police contacted the Dairy Farmers of Ontario, which contained the truckload of milk to keep it off store shelves. Under DFO regulations, no milk can be sold from the farm until an investigation is complete to ensure the milk is safe. Meanwhile, the farmer will still be paid for producing milk and will not lose any money.
Police reported the vandalism took place sometime overnight between June 22 and 23.
