Varmits in my attic!!!!

You'd be suprised of the size hole a coon can go through, if their head goes through the rings will follow suit. I've got a 50# pitbull that loves to investigate attics, but you can never tell if he'll put in a new access hatch or not. The cheewaawa is better suited to the preservation of the structure and HATES rodents. Maybe you can put on a full-face helmet and a set of welding gloves and have a good bright flashlight in hand to investigate. Just think of yourself as an upsidedown Tunnel Rat.

I skipped to the back w/o readin' the middle, I didn't realize you'd found the culprits.
A neighbor of mine said he chunked mothballs to the far corners of his attic to repel squirells and it seemed to work, I think on rats as well.

TRAPS ARE SET!!!! I stopped off at Lowes on the way home and bought 5 rat traps....which incidently if your pricing rat traps they cost $1.97 + tax each! I got the "tomcat" variety and they seem fairly well built! I remembered from experience with trapping mice that it is a very wise idea to "anchor" the trap somehow as to prevent the critter from dragging the trap out of site or down a hole and in an attic full if insulation there are numerous ways for it to disappear!! Naturally I forgot to buy some of that thin wire to secure the traps with and didn't have any laying around, so I had to do some very unmentionable things to a couple of wire coat hangers, but it done the job! I secured the trap and baited them with some of that nasty fried black crap that dripped out of my George Forman Grill when I grilled chicken. Some very sticky goooey stuff just right for rat bait I figured! I also baited one with some "Smen" (It's an aged salted butter that originates in Morocco in North Africa). Don't ask where I got it, but we'll see if these rats want a little taste of culture!

OOOOWEEEEEEE as I was typing this I am pretty sure I heard one of my traps sklup!! I'll go check after I post this and let ya'll know!!!! I just sent them an hour ago!

Hey did anyone see the show where they were shooting some sort of rat in New Orleans?? It looked like a rat cross beaver.... And they even cooked it up for some New Orleans cusine...... They were shooting them outta of the back of a pickup.... Our son thought that would be a great job...
