I have a Vermeer BP700 bale processor. I feed bales that are baled with a Vermeer M series baler. Alfalfa bales are weighing over 2000 pounds. The processor doesn't seem to be able to handle the weight of those bales in that the rollers stop turning. My hydraulics on the tractor all are all up to snuff. Feeding grass hay and bedding with corn stalks usually doesn't give a problem. Any one else experienced this problem? Is the new model, the BP8000 any better? If any one has had experience with this I would appreciate your input. Thanks!

I don't do any haying..."being the smart blond that I am"...but I've heard hubby talk about keeping the bales between 1500-1700lbs..with his V baler and he doesn't have any troubles...a 2000lb bale sounds pretty darn heavy...

I have thought about buying one from time to time but haven't bothered yet.. My Vermeer dealer just got one for himself this year and it liking his.. Don't know what size bale he is grining but it is out of a 605M... I know when we got bales ouf of a JD 567 we would have some cutings that would be 2000-2200 pounds in Alfalfa.

Sundancer- We have an older (98) Hyline 6800 and have put thousands of feed and bedding bales through. Everything from slough hay to alfalfa to extremely heavy green feed. We've even abused it with old froze up spoiled straw and it's fed everything through. Try changing tractors or do a pressure test on your hydraulic pump........heavy bales do need good hydraulic pressure to turn.
