The comment was made:

I note our soldiers in Afghanistan are good enough to fight your wars for you but our beef is not good enough to be sold in your stores.

To which Willow-Kreek (with a K not Willowcreek, the alias Oldtimer/OVI uses in Canada) replied:

My nephew returned from Afghanistan a few weeks ago.He was raised by my brother and his wife a half mile down the road from my house.
When I finally had a chance to visit with him the first thing he told me about his tour was that his life had been saved by a Canadian sniper team when he and his squad were in a very tight spot.
I know many of you won't care what I say on this thread but I will say it anyway..Thank You for what your military is doing.Obviously Willowcreek is being very shortsighted but I can honestly say now that I view Canada in a very different light.
I will never support R-calf in the future. If your soldiers can risk their lives alongside ours then I think I can compete with you as friends in the beef buisness.THANK YOU CANADA.

If you are on the Bull Session, good post Willow-Kreek. Nice to be reminded that not all Americans share the view of the R-Klowns on this site.

Bill you are always on the pity potty, none of us have a thing against the canadian cattle man, even tho you make that more likely with the name callin, the markets have been slanted towards packers/retailer long enough...........Time for some fairness, after all that is all M COOL does, truth in labeling, you act like you are afraid to put that Maple leaf in the meat counter with that ole RED WHITE and BLUE package of mine ?
good luck we appreciate the Canadian fighting men and women, and that's a fact.

Im curious Bill, what do you get outa makin sarcastic remarks with a keyboard ? all safe and sound where you dont have to look at a man to make insults, think about it,I doubt anyone is amused including the Canadians, down here that kinda activity is pretty much left to the cowards,if you caint make your point without the insults.........you dont have one,Im thinking its about time you were ignored........good luck

Hay Maker, with the past history of R-CALF, I believe you would have a hard time selling your statement to the Canadian cattle producers!

I believe,I would probably have a harder time selling it to someone like you,I been reading your AMI/packer promoting posts, you're a little sneakier thann the Bill's that post here.
Truth be known your interests lie with the packing industry, which is not a bad thing, why dont you just come out and say it,instead of sneaking in a packer point every chance you get.
Packers want to source cattle as cheaply as possible......no problem ,but then they want to drive the US cattles man prices down with their canadian captive supplies, now we have a problem.
You see I want to sell my cattle for as much as I can, the canadian cattle man has had years to partner with the US cattle man, instead they chose to partner with packers, knowing that the packers were using their cattle to put downward pressure on our markets, they never give a damn, never heard a word outa them,so I am really not sure I care what the canadians think of my opinions.
They fight for their market? I fight for mine.
M COOL is coming just as sure as the sun rises in the morning, canadians had as much to do with making that happen as anyone, sad part about this whole deal is,while they are whining about the inevitable they should be positioning themselves for the changes M COOL will bring because now the US cattleman can identify his product, and will demand the check off promote "HOME GROWN BEEF",who does that leave promoting imports ?
good luck & good nite, bout time to head upstairs.

Yep Haymaker-- Canadians are the ones that set up the guidelines (US herd and Canadian herd ) that first brought up and now brought about M-COOL...Canadians don't like to remember that they were the ones that first set a NAFTA precedent that these were separate cattle herds-- a US herd and a Canadian herd- when they came out with their "ALL US CATTLE ARE DISEASED"... And then continued using this in a trade barrier for over 10 years, even tho it was proven to be a facade...

And Canadians were still echoing that until they got their tits caught in the BSE wringer...

That is what made the "North American Herd" concept so farcical when the Packers and Canadians tryed to promote it...Not even NCBA could get their members to gag that down for their Packer Buddies....

Now when we take their concept one step further and identify beef from these differing herds all the way to the consumer, so the consumer can have an informed choice -- they scream and squeal like a stuck hog.....

"But should any nation, contrary to our wishes, suppose it may better find its advantage by continuing its system of prohibitions, duties and regulations, it behooves us to protect our citizens, their commerce and navigation, by counter prohibitions, duties and regulations, also. Free commerce and navigation are not to be given in exchange for restrictions and vexations; nor are they likely to produce a relaxation of them. " Thomas Jefferson

OK,so Mr Ben,is a organic farmer,my apology Ben for assuming you were associated with such a lowly group.................good luck
