I feel riped off too. Recently my dog and my daughters dog got into a squabbhle and her lab ended up with a small cut. She wanted it fixed right and wouldn;t let me use the Super Glue. It was Sunday so our vet reffered us to a syndicated animal hospital that charged us 400 dollars for one stitch. The real kicker was they told us it would have beenj much cheaper if we had health insurance on the dog. I have always believed the mafia dreamed up health insurance, so it's my opiniion that they have invaded the pet world. So when it comes to vets these days it's buyer be ware.

WOW! Don't think I will ever question pricing again! Lordy that was pricy! Was it after hours or emergency or anything? My dog vet tacks on an extra 150.00 if he needs to come out after hours. I don't begrudge him that! Last time he came out in the middle of the night to try and save my GP that had her throat ripped out by a coyote. Not sure why I even called him out it was pretty obvious she couldnt be saved... That was years ago but I still pop off coyotes cuz I'm angry at them. (how was that for rational....not...)

A man brought his parrot to the local Vet. The Vet examined the parrot and pronounced him dead. The man screamed at him to test him more as he couldn't possibly be dead. The Vet opened the door to another room and a large black Lab came out. The Lab walked around the parrot a couple of times and went back into his room. The Vet stated to the parrot's owner that the dog confirmed the parrot was dead.

The man became more frustrated and screamed once again to test more. The Vet opened another door and a cat entered the room. The cat walked around the parrot a couple of times and went back into his room. The Vet told the man, that confirmed it again. The parrots owner took the dead parrot and left. A week later the pet owner called the Vet and was very upset. How in the hell can you charge me $200.00 just to tell me my parrot was dead?
The Vet replied "it was $125.00 for the Lab work and $75.00 for the Cat scan!

Local vet here gets $227.00 for steering out my collie. Told the Mrs. next time I am going to use a $.15 rubber band. Then this ladyvet gets another $90.00 just for giving him a rabies shot. Gee, I wonder how much it would cost if I bit the dog.
