An excellent read. I can see so much potential the world over, and in some cases it is pretty scary. ie... put a implant in a newborn and he will never leave his place of birth if so programed into a virtual fence.
so lets take it one step further, identify all the terrorists and confine them to a specific area... the terrorism factor has just been solved... prisoners in our prisons, all confined to the prison yard without a fence.... specific groups of people.. needing to be confined to a specific area till cleared for whatever reason........... and the ideas go on and on... WOW WOW

I've often wondered if the Ranching industry could benefit from putting GPS trackers on cattle and it looks like other folks have had the same thoughts. In my mind, the pros ( health, heat detection, broken fences) would far outweigh the cons (price).

Whatever happened to being a stockman? That means you are checking on your stock! :? You know what shape fences are in, what the cows are up to, how the grass looks, what the water situation is like, ect. ect. ect. A GPS won't tell you anything about range conditions. The west needs more stockmen and while technology has a place, it won't and shouldnt replace the knowledge between a guys ears.

It would be helpful if you came up short on the fall gather! It could give you an area to check for your hideouts instead of driving back and forth hoping for the best
