Water Tank Liners

Has anybody ever used those Brawler water tank liners--and what experience have you had with them?

After jostling cows around the corral sorting and loading the other day- I noticed that they had bumped into one of my 300 gallon oblong galvanized tanks that I have set up to handle three pens, and it was leaking a little (not surprising since its about 10 years old)...

In checking the Western Ranch catalog for the price of a new tank- I saw the Brawler tank liners they advertise- almost as much as a new metal tank, but supposedly with a 10 year guarantee- and since my tank is already boxed in, it would make it easier than changing tanks......

But I've never used them...

All I use anymore are tire tanks Ot.

What kind of tires and do you have trouble with them freezing in the winter? I am so sick of the poorly built tanks now days and I need something that will pretty much be maint -free. Oh and last but not least who have you had the best luck getting them from? Thanks 8)
 
Yeh, OT, I have used and am using a Brawler tank liner. They work good here. The water where I use these is the kind that eat a tank up every couple of years. The brawler stopped that. I let one go dry over the winter, and wind whipping it caused it to leak. They replaced it w/o a question. I will use them again. Good Luck. Just keep water in the tank all the time & you shouldn't have trouble.

Thanks shortgrass..We must have about the same water- every chemical and mineral you can think of - which is what surprised me this tank lasted 10 years...
 
I never have had a problem with minerals in water eating tanks,and as much Limestone as we have here in the Hill country you would think it would.........some of these ole coots around here that are in their eighties swear its the minerals in the water that promotes longevity...........good luck

Earthmoving equipment tires.

They don't freeze as bad as metal or plastic as they are black and warm from the sun fast. Quite a few perople are buring them in a side hill with a cover and only leaving a drink hole open and not having any problems.

On mine, I just break the ice. The more cattle drinking out of them, the less ice.

I get them from CRS, a local ranch store, but seems to me a tire is a tire.
