I saw something that really surprised me today- a Fire Hydrant out in the middle of nowhere....
The Fort Peck Dry Prairie is putting in water pipelines to bring water to residences and communities in 4 counties north of the Missouri River- many that never had a good or reliable water source...And every few miles they are putting in hydrants so the fire trucks can refill if needed in a bad fire...

Hydrant in the middle of nowhere- next to the highway....

Pipe laid out and ready to be planted...They've been doing prairie land and now doing crop land as the crops are cleared...

One of the pipe storage areas that were all along the highway...

that's not a bad idea , we had grass fire to the south of us , it must of bin 20 mile long and about 5 or 6 miles wide , the paper said there must of bin 700 people there , they had shovels , sacks and any thing that would tote water.

You need to get out more. They have been doing that kind of work east of you for a few years.

Yep- but never thought they'd get to this area in my lifetime...

I guess the thunderstorm last night started a fire out on Timber Creek in the Missouri Breaks...I haven't heard any more about it yet this morning....
