Rounded up and ready to wean
The sorters fiddling with corral panels
The supporting cast
Out the gate they go
Peach and our ponies
Working according to plan
Part of the team resting up for the big game
I heard that.
Kosmo's kak
The old fat guy got warmed up and had to shuck his coat.
Fat guy in fine form
Sunflower and Goose getting one out
Peach taking out one of the last cows
My sister was chief photographer, as well as keeper of the gates and principal pivot person. She was just generally in the right place
at the right time all the time to help keep the flow of cows running smoothly.
Ready to head the cows for home
Cows on one side
Calves on the other
About to start ki-yi-ing the cows to the corral
The majority of these cows are two-year-old first calf heifers.
Yee-haw!
And off in a cloud of dust
The cows were driven about a mile from where they left their calves, and are locked in a corral with hay bales in bale rings
available for their eating pleasure. This will be their home for the next three days. The calves were later turned out on fresh grass.
